In this segment Grace McIntee presents a tutoring PSA about the Center for Academic Success at Pierce College. She promotes the opportunities for educational assistance and exam preparation on campus. Educational assistance can happen in varying ways, some will turn to actual tutors to help them, others will go online to sites such as collegepaperworld.com for help with essays, assignments, papers, etc. the list is endless. To complete this task Grace mixed ambient sound, pre-recorded audio, music, and narration using professional audio editing software.

In this project Cameron Mallasch asks Joseph Tropicana 5 Questions about Pierce Community College. Joseph talks about the size of the student store, and the long wait to purchase books. He talks about the lack of food option, and the difficulties parking on campus. Joseph mentions that the campus computers are slow, and how the the wifi works intermittently across the campus.

In this project Ashton Cox interviews Mike Mendoza, who is the co-owner of CrossFit RepScheme in Northridge. Before or after the interview Ashton captures ambient sounds of the inside of the gym. Mike talks about how much he enjoys coaching and cross fit training. He also mentions how much his gym has grown in the San Fernando Valley community.

Blanca and Britney
Valleyfornia with Blanca Renovato is the show that discusses everything social in the Valley. On this episode, Blanca Renovato is joined by Pierce College alumna, Nutrition major and success story Britney Turner. She is also a former volleyball player at Pierce College. Britney discusses her major, the stigma around community college, and the average amount of time it takes to graduate. She talks about keeping your head in the game and the importance of proper eating habits. Britney says that students need to stay focused on their goals to succeed.

Some students talk about healthy choices like fruits, and nuts, while others share more interesting options.

In this project Barisa Puwarie asks a Pierce College student named Diego 5 Questions about campus food options. Diego explains that a cafeteria has been built, but it isn’t open. Although he is not a patron of the food trucks on campus, he thinks that the prices are affordable and comparable. Diego encourages the colleges administration to open the cafeteria and provide more options for the students. He also says that there is not enough shelter for students to eat lunch shelter in the extreme climate conditions.
