I just thought I’d check in to see if the gig is still on the air. Its been a very long time since I DJ’d at
the station nd did the newsback in 1972. I was one of the original staffers when KPCR first went on
the air. I had a brief radio career back in Philly in the early 80′s where I now reside. I still have my
staff member card and I have a lot of good memories, too. My hours were 3-5 in the afternoon. There
was a young girl on right before me called, ‘wildflower’ she wore a granny dress rose tinted sunglasses
and a straw hat with daisie in it. Man was she was a real freaky chick. I had suggested when recieving
the F.M. licence in ’73 that they take KWLH call letters short for woodland hills. It was concidered but
in the end the was never changed. Back then it was mainly top-40 format / some progressive stuff thrown
in to mix it up. Since I’m now back east I’ve not keept up with the station and assume you still have an F.M.
broadcast slot. I guess you rarely hear from past staffers especiall those from way back.
I wish you all the best of luck.
Thanks, Bob
