What started as a documentary about the programs that offer free education in Los Angeles resulted in a piece highlighting the LA Promise program here at Pierce College. The Los Angeles College Promise provides one year of free enrollment to all full-time students graduating from LAUSD and charter high schools beginning with seniors graduating in 2017. The LA promise is the first of many programs forming across the America providing tuition free education. The LA Promise program is comprised of faculty members across community college campuses. KPC Radio spoke about the program and the benefits it’s bringing to college campuses in the San Fernando Valley with Sergio Gonzalez, the outreach and recruitment coordinator at Pierce College, Cesar Ventareno, LA Promise mentor, Sunday Salter, President of Transfer at Pierce College, Joanna B Zimring-Towne , faculty coordinator for the college promise district wide and Freshman Natalie Gonzalez.
