Nabil talks about the addition of the Beach Volleyball at Pierce College, and the importance of a players versatility. Assistant coach Tom Slautrbezk shares the history of Beach Volleyball. He also talks about the international associations, in which eventually assisted in the sport being officially inducted into the Olympic Games. Pierce College student Sakurako Fujii, mentions that beach volleyball is more physical and emotional, than playing the indoor version of the sport.

Hungry to Win with Olivia Cervantes is a show that focuses on Pierce College athletes who migrate to play sports at Pierce. On this episode Olivia interviews Isaiah Williams and Kevin Trejo of the Pierce College Men’s Volleyball team. Kevin is a Nursing student, and a sophomore libero. Isaiah is a Communications student, and a sophomore setter. He shares that he followed his brother’s footsteps by playing high school volleyball, and that he became a Brahma to better his opportunities. Kevin mentions that he also played volleyball in high school, and that he started playing for Pierce because he missed the sport. They both discuss what it means to be a team player.

Bob Lofrano, who is the athletic director talks about the history of the department and some of the financial challenges it has face. Nabil Mardini mentions his love for coaching, and the sacrifices he would make to keep Women’s Volleyball alive at Pierce College.

Britney discusses her major, the stigma around community college, and the average amount of time it takes to graduate. She talks about keeping your head in the game and the importance of proper eating habits. Britney says that students need  to stay focused on their goals to succeed.

This profile discusses his experience as a coach and department chair. He talks about teaching Physical Education, advising coaches, and his past experience coaching Brahma Baseball. Nabil Mardini, who is the coach of the Women’s Volleyball team discusses how Bob has been a mentor to all the coaches, as well as a major supporter of all the teams on campus. Bob Lofrano also mentions the obstacles coaches face with students, and talks about some of the upgrades he would like to see on campus before retirement.
