Poet Kim Nguyen explains the importance of poetry in her life, an how it allows her to express her point of view. She also talks about the challenges of competing as a poet. Alicia Langston, who started a poetry club at San Francisco State University talks about the open mic poetry community, and her experiences with events and workshops.

Sarina Sity, who frequently attends open mic events mentions that she connects with how the writers express their experiences. She also talks about how poetry helps her relate to the author. Elizabeth Jackson, who is a regular open mic performer shares that the poetry community is inviting, and being a member has helped her overcome her fears. Ashton Jackson, Elizabeth’s brother says that he is proud that his sister has found a way to open up and express her thoughts.

Sweet Treats with Arianna Hall is a show that focuses on all the local sweet tasting eateries in the San Fernando Valley. On this episode Arianna talks about baked sweets with Cassie Clark, who is the owner of Cassie Cakes Cakery in Northridge. Cassie discusses what it takes to open a food handling business in Los Angeles County, and how she started making her cake creations. She explains that her brand is custom cakes, and that she also creates a variety of gourmet sweets. Cassie also mentions her artistic style and how she incorporates it into every cake. She says that she has to be specifically asked to simplify her creations.

Drew talks about how they test various drink flavors to find new inspirations for tea. Drew and Marthin explain some of the process of making natural sweet treats, and how they developed the names of their parlors.

JP share the challenges they faced opening a creamery, and the obstacles they have faced obtaining exotic ingredients. They both mention that they are San Fernando Valley natives, and how they started Wanderlust to assist in preserving the local eatery culture and community.
