Gay Rights Activist Shervin Khorramian

 On today’s episode of “The Farsi Show” Hengame Abassi interviews Shervin Khorramian, a gay rights activist who was one of the main organizers of the “Out of Iran & Out of closet an LGBTQ” event. Khorramian was born in Germany in 1970. He moved a few years later to Iran and by Age 8 he was living in the U.S. Khorramian then went back to live in Germany, where he came out and discovered what it feels to live a real life. Eventually Khorramian graduated with a B.S. in Physics with a concentration in Physical Biochemistry from UCLA.  He received his CPA license, and championed the gay rights movement.  In his own words “So glad I showed up early in 1970”.

Today on “The Farsi Show” host Henigame introduce  two professional musicians Nava Emami &  Mehdi Aligholi. The duo played Classic Iranian Music live in studio using the instruments Setar and Santoor .
The Iranian music instructor Nava Emami 34 with a  B.A. in political science, an M.A. in international relations, and is also an Athlete in karate.  Mehdi Aligholi who has a B.A. in music is also a music instructor for master classes.

Asyeh Ziaie is an award-winning theater actress, TV actress, writer, songwriter and teacher who enjoys popularity in Iran. Asyeh shares her story, including her passion for theater and acting, and her experience onstage the Morgan Wixon Theater in the one-woman show “Listen.”  The show was performed on Iranian stages in Tehran ten years ago- Asyeh performs scenes from the play for Farsi Show listeners.

Hengame is a poet, reporter, painter, writer, TV host and activist. She is the first ever women Captain and founder of girls soccer team “Persepolis” in Iran. She has published two poetry books in the U.S. Hengame shares some of her poetry, discussion on her experience as a female soccer player and her immigration stories.
