This episode, Muffy Sunde and Yuisa Gimeno from the Freedom Socialist Party and Radical Women, respectively, were on the Raised Fist. We discussed their beginnings in activism and their organization and the causes they advocate. We discussed their ideology, Marxist Feminism, and how it differs from liberal feminism.
Estee Chandler from JVP LA came on the Raised Fist this week. We talked about their platform and multitude of campaigns the JVP has created or takes part in, including the JVP’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Two members of the Youth Justice Coalition called in and discussed their beginnings with the YFC. We discussed the YFC goals, organizing strategy, past and future events, and school in Inglewood, Calif.
This week, members of the student group Students Organizing for Success, or S.O.S., came on the program. We discussed some current news as well as the recent presidential debate. We talked about how they first got into politics and activism, and the influence James McKeever, professor of Sociology, has had on them. We discussed our political ideologies, as well as common misconceptions.
