On the 6th episode of A Helpful Heart Rebecca Paredes interviews GSA club advisor and teacher JJ Turner-McMullen where she talks about the LGBT community & high school. It’s a real struggle being accepted in a place full of judgement, like high school or sometimes even at home when people see you different based on your sexuality or appearance. There will always be some one there for you in the GSA club at John F. Kennedy, welcoming students with open arms in a judgement free environment with nothing but love and support.

On the 5th episode of a helpful heart , Rebecca interviews President of the St.A.S.H Club Juan Ornelas and Vice President Jordan Rice. They discuss the importance of the club and what they want the campus to know because learning on an empty stomach is difficult enough but can you imagine what it’s like for some students that have to pick book over a meal? That’s crazy right?! The St.A.S.H here at pierce is trying to change that with a food pantry on campus.

Edley speaks on the importance of teaching children to give back to others in need by having them get involved in their community as a family, whether its their school or the local food bank.

Saucedo is an undocumented student that wants to help further others in ways that he didn’t receive as he was growing up.
