From the Pierce Website: “LAPC’s Diversity Committee is hosting the fourth annual “Multicultural Day” in collaboration with the Multicultural Center, the Associated Student Organization (ASO), and the French Film Festival. This event showcases the social-cultural diversity of the Pierce community in order to foster a more inclusive and equitable campus climate. This Wednesday event consists of presentations from professors during official class times, the Keynote speaker at 12:15pm in the Faculty & Staff Center (600 Bldg), and a film screening on Thursday, April 18th.

David Suh is the keynote speaker for this Multicultural Day, a portrait photographer, content creator, and small business owner in Los Angeles whose passion is to show ordinary people that they can be as beautiful as any celebrity on a magazine cover. Please email [email protected] for any accommodations.”

Bodega Beautification Workshop

From the Pierce website: “Play in the soil with us and plant native milkweed on campus.”

The workshop meets at the Multicultural Center on Tuesday, March 26 at 11 a.m. Registration required.

Nowruz Celebration

Form the Pierce website: “Stop by the Multicultural Center anytime from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to try Persian sweets and tea. The Iranian Student’s Club will be setting up a Haft sin in celebration of Nowruz.”

This event will be held at the Multicultural Center Wednesday, March 20.

Celebrating Cesar Chavez

From the Pierce College website: “Eduardo Chavez, grandson of legendary civil rights activist, Cesar Chavez, will be joining us in the Multicultural Center to screen his feature documentary, ‘Hailing Cesar’. Q&A session will follow the screening.”

This free event will happen at the Multicultural Center from noon to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday March 13.

French Film Festival: “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie”

The French Film Festival will be held at the Multicultural Center Tuesday, March 26.

This free event will feature an closing reception with musical guest Guys and Doll. It will also feature Dominique Merrill, music by composer Francis Poulenc and interpretation by Shereen Saiyed.

The reception is followed by 1972 comedy drama “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie,” and followed by a Q&A with English Professor Donna Accardo and French Professor Denis Pra.

French Film Festival: “Paris Memories / Revoir Paris”

The French Film Festival will be held at the Multicultural Center Monday, March 25.

This free event will feature the 2022 drama “Paris Memories,” and followed by a Q&A with Psychology Professor Maria Perser and Sociology Professor Julio Tsuha.

The French Film Festival will be held at the Multicultural Center Thursday, March 21.

This free event will feature the 1968 romantic drama “Stolen Kisses,” and followed by a Q&A with Cinema Professor Ken Windrum.
