This is Episode 3 of The Life of Hollywood, the show about how working professionals in Hollywood got started. I am your host, Marcus Nocerino. Getting a job in Hollywood is very hard and competitive. It’s all about who you know in the industry and not what you know.  Today’s guest is Kate Surinskaya, who is from Russia and based in LA. She’s a SAG-eligible actress, screenwriter, and director. Kate has worked on many independent films. One of the independent films she’s worked on is called “Parallels,” the story of a teenager in suburban Russia fights for the approval of her working-class parents in pursuit of her dream to become an actress but has to face another battle when she finds out her mom is terminally ill.
