Team reporters conduct multiple interviews with individuals, groups, businesses, or organizations in Los Angeles County. In this segment Emmanuel Arias focuses on the LAPD Cadet program. LAPD Sergeant Jessie Oheda discusses the benefits of becoming a Cadet, and talks about some of the activities the youth perform.

Officer John Meadrid who is the Foothill Division’s Youth Services Officer explains that the program is aimed toward teaching leadership skills to 13 to 20 year old youth. He also shares that he enjoys seeing the growth in the confidence levels of each Cadet. Corporal Erick Estrata talks about the focus of the program, the course length, as well as his Cadet leadership duties. Corporal Ada Geuping, who is a Cadet recruit trainer talks about some of the daily exercises the Cadets perform.

Sergeant Darla Cozarelli talks about her role in public relations, and shares some of the other Cadet programs offered to the community. Captain Julio Meza dicusses his responsibilities and a Cadet platoon leader, his desire to assist other teenagers, and he encourages all youth to join the program.
