Today, on the “Voice for the Voiceless”, Regem Corpuz speaks with Paul Pempena, who is an organizer for the Filipino Migrant Center and AnakBayan Los Angeles. He discusses Filipino domestic workers today and AB889 (The Domestic Workers Bill of Rights). Pempena mentions the lack of activism from Filipino American Community and what they can do to help. He ends with inviting Pierce College students to AnakBayan’s presentation: “Migration Stories” workshop April 24th, at 3pm in the Great Hall. Regem ends by discussing upcoming coverage of the May 1st Rally.
