Today’s guest is Stephen Carver, also known as SaberSpark on YouTube. He’s well-known for making videos where he reviews and discusses obscure animated films as well as video essays talking about the decline or downfall of certain animated shows or studios. In this episode, we discuss the early 2010 internet trend known as bronies, the unexpected adult fanbase of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Saberspark gives us his perspective of how a cartoon marketed for young girls grabs the attention of millions of adult fans. We also discuss his career as an animated reviewer on YouTube and how it came to be.
