Yesterday on Music from the Underground, hosts Courtney Coles and Maurice McFarland, had an in-studio interview with David Daskal, the microphonist of Xyzyx (pronounced “ziz-ix”).
When it came to describing Xyzyx’s sound, Daskal went on saying, “we’re like Weezer meets Foo Fighters with the vocals of Incubus and the stage presence of Spinal Tap.” We played their E.P, “Songs You Will Cherish for the Rest of Your Life” and ended the show with a homage to ’80s heartthrob, Kirk Cameron.
Xyzyx has a show tonight at Skinny’s in North Hollywood. The show is 21+ and $3 at the door.
If you’re unable to see them tonight, you can catch them next Tuesday, May 18, at Hollywood Billiards.
