“Los Angeles Pierce College Theatre’s 2023-2024 Season will continue on Dec. 1 with the beloved comedy “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling. Performances begin Friday, Dec. 1 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023 at the Performing Arts Mainstage.”

“At Truvy’s beauty shop in Chinquapin, Louisiana, everybody who is anybody gathers each week to swap stories, share gossip, and of course, style their hair. Through laughter, tears and a thick fog of hairspray, six southern spitfires support each other through thick and thin. Steel Magnolias is a hilarious, heartwarming portrait of the strength and beauty of female friendship.”

“LAPC Theatre’s production of “Steel Magnolias” is directed by Shaheen Vaaz. The cast features Meagan Truxal as Truvy, Veronica Nix as Clairee, Laura Crane as Annelle, Donna Accardo as Ouiser, Jasmine Curry as M’lynn and Emelysse Paez as Shelby. Understudies are Annjeanette Harville, Amelia Miller and Alany Soils-Coleman.”

“The production features scenic design by Frederica Nascimento, costume design by Eileen Gizienski and sound design by DJ Medina. Danni Rabbani is the stage manager and Daniela Rangel is Assistant Director.”

“Steel Magnolias” will open in the Dow Arena Theatre on the Pierce College campus on Friday, Dec. 1 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 10. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced at $15 for students, $18 for seniors and $23 for general admission.
