Guadalupe talks about activities for mental health patients.
Local Voices with Isela Gonzalez is a weekly talk show discussing local community issues. On this episode Isela interviews Guadalupe Yepiz, who teaches Manualidades (Arts and Crafts) to mental health patients for therapy. Guadalupe discusses her experiences working at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. She talks the different activities that she organizes for the patients. She says that she holds classes on drawing, painting, crochet, and knitting. Guadalupe shares how many of the patients are able to overcome some of the challenges they have faced through activities she teaches in her class. She invites everyone to joint her classes at Placita Olvera and at Harbor UCLA Medical Center on Tuesdays. She also says that all the classes are free.
