The Farsi Show with Hengame Abassi is a show that focuses on the local Farsi-speaking community. This episode features Elham Gordi, an Iranian poet with a bachelor’s in family law. In this episode, Elham talks about immigration and the positive effects on her life. She also dicusses her published books; I’ve Been Left in Your Silence, Region Pub, Scent of a Woman in the Elevator, An Anthology of Modern Persian Poetry as well as collected poems translated from English. Elham talks about her experiences as social worker when she was working at Reyhaneh House (Center for Disadvantaged and Runaway Girls in Iran), and as volunteer teachers for children in labor, Center for Labour and Street Children, on Qhaar Street. She shares the differences between being a social worker for street children in Iran, and working with autistic children in the United States.

She also gives live readings of unpublished poems, exclusive to the Farsi Show on KPCRadio.com.

The Farsi Show with Hengame Abassi is a show that focuses on the local Farsi-speaking community. This season carries a theme: the immigration story. The story of defeat and victory, joy and sorrow, hardship and achievement. This episode is recorded in West Los Angeles’ Iranian Art and Culture House (خانه فرهنگ و هنر ايران). Elham, the musical artist playing this event’s sold-out concert, balances being a student at Pierce College as well as being a professional singer, in addition to an upcoming album release. A wide variety of artists and celebrities are present, including popular composer J. Pasoki- the turning point of event- also and well-loved musician Fakhri Khorvash. Hengame interviews some of the artists and Pierce college students present- professional singer and Pierce College student Faryar, who discusses classmates, Elham and the day’s events. Event MC Mahnaz Dosti, and event decorator plus Pierce college student Parisa Hafezi are also featured to share their feelings and opinions about the event for kpcradio.com.

Hengame will be asking Dr. Azim about how students can prevent back and neck pain, everyday posture, sports, nutrition and more. Dr. Azim will also discuss her success story as a mother, wife, and independent lady in Iranian and American society.

They will also discuss the Child Foundation’s role in the Midnight Mission, a program helping the homeless in downtown Los Angeles. On this episode, Hengame interviews Iranian artist Shadi Amini, and Producer, Director Siros Kerdouni about engaged arts, and art collectives. Shadi shares her recent song Rosary. She talks about how the music video was officially selected in the (IN)Justice For All Film Festival. She also talks about her experience working with Siros on the music video. Siros discusses the concept of the video, and what it was like working with Shadi. He also talks about some of his experiences working with various artists in collectives around the world.
