Listen: Buy and Sell Online – Karen Lilley Grant

This time on “Buy and Sell Online” host, Jacob Keyser spoke with Karen Lilley Grant. She tells the audience about what she sells on eBay, how she sells it, and how she gets it at such a good deal.

She also breaks down the process of buying a product online. Additionally, she explains why she started to sell online and how it became her full-time job.

Without a doubt, eBay connects millions of buyers and sellers around the world. It also can be a great way to make money. Whether you are working from home with very little investment or you are a reseller who sells large quantities of products, there are plenty of opportunities to make a living through eCommerce.

There are a few different types of eBay sellers. First of all, there are amateur resellers, who sell a few items at fixed prices, and then you have PowerSellers. Put simply, PowerSellers are professional sellers who spend more time purchasing items, packaging products, shipping and receiving goods and managing auctions.

One of the many advantages of buying and selling on eBay is that it is a fantastic platform for promoting an existing eCommerce store. For example, if your business sells digital goods, then eBay can be a unique way to introduce your products and services to a wider audience.

Selling digital goods in the form of information, software, templates, recordings, or art is a huge business opportunity. However, before you sell digital goods on eBay, there are a few essential things you need to know. For instance, sales of things like software or photos are treated differently than sales of physical items, and eBay has specific rules that sellers must adhere to.

Accordingly, eBay considers any content that can be downloaded via a website or received via email as a type of digital goods. To sell digital goods on eBay, digital items must be listed under the Information Products header in the Everything Else category.

Additionally, any digital goods listings must also be in a classified ad format. Within your listing, you must state clearly that you are the legal owner of the content or intellectual property, or that you are authorized to sell it on behalf of the owner.

The rules may seem strict, but they are in place for good reasons. These rules protect intellectual property rights and protect buyers from purchasing pirated and unauthorized items.
